Found Ken while doing a google search. Told him I had 5 knives of my mother’s that couldn’t cut butter….dropped by his address and I was very impressed in the way he explained to me how he would sharpen the knives. He met me the next day downtown Halifax conveniently, as he was in town himself with the sharpened knives. Took to my mothers and tried all five knives, the result of his work is exceptional and I will only reach out to him in the future when any knives need attention

I am absolutely pleased with the sharpening job Ken did on my knives. They have never been as sharp and are a pleasure to use again. He had my 8 knives done the same day!I really appreciated the time he took to explain what each knife was for and the proper use and care of each so that they will last a long time. Now to get a proper knife holder!He is very knowledgeable and his business is conveniently located in Brookside, away from the city traffic.

I was tired of having my well prepared roasts hacked to pieces by a dull knife! The solution? I contacted Ken @ Maritime Sharpening and he put the “edge” back on all my blades. In addition, he gave me some excellent advice on the proper maintenance of my knives. He was also able to turn around the sharpening in less than 24 hours. Ken is such an amiable fellow who provides top notch service! He’ll be my “go to” guy for all my sharpening needs and I thoroughly recommend him.

Had two knives sharpened by Ken. Promised they would be completed the next day but he got them finished the same day so I didn’t get a chance to miss them. The service was great as well as the price. had an old, rusty hatchet, two garden shears, and about a dozen kitchen knives of various sizes all dropped off for sharpening. Work was done quickly, he was great at communication of time, pickup and drop off. Everything is razor sharp. The hatchet and old shears are like knew, and the knives are cutting like the old 80's ginsu knife infomercials.Would definitely use again.

Took our Mac knife in for Ken to sharpen and it was like a brand new knife when he finished. He gave me some tips on how to keep it sharp as well. Super quick and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend!

I brought my well used knives to Maritime Sharpening. They were in rough shape. Ken thoroughly guided me in their proper care to maintain them for years to come. Ken did an outstanding job rehabilitating and sharpening some long neglected kitchen knives of ours. He was friendly, fairly priced and super fast, turning knives around on the same day I dropped them off! He also was very helpful in teaching me how to maintain the edges on the blades. Great service from Ken! We got our axe and hatchets sharpened first. They turned out fantastically sharp and we appreciate Ken’s advice on proper use and storage of sharpened tools. All we can say is WOW!! 💕Ken took our set of 15 year old, mediocre grade knives, and completely transformed them!!Hubs is beyond ecstatic (does most of the cooking) and says they are sharper now than when they were brand new! Over the phone and in person he was always courteous and Ken has a very good knowledge about knives, which he will be happy to share along with some tips of how to extend their lives.The time he took to complete the task was very satisfactory and he got the job done right.We love to cook in our family. First of all, Ken was a very responsive, friendly and professional guy. He sharpened all three of my axes/hatchets in a very short period of time and did an excellent job. One of my forest axes had quite a knick in it from bring dropped on a hard surface, and he managed to bring it back to a uniform edge. He even sent me a video of the newly sharpened axe cutting a single piece of newspaper on its edge. I will most definitely be returning to him in the future!! Thanks again Ken.Dan 🙂

I had 5 knives sharpened by Ken.Very friendly service. He had them ready on time as promised and the knives were super sharp. My Mac knife needed some TLC and Ken was able to restore a flawless edge to the blade. Used all of them over the holidays and I was impressed. Will use Ken again and recommend his services.

I gave Ken 3 knives...2 to sharpen and one that was a total mess, broken tip, no edge at all. What I got back were 3 razor sharp knives with the messed up one looking like a brand new knife. Highly recommend this company for your sharping needs
